Rex Craig Obituary

Rex E. Craig, Jr., 62, passed away at 9:20 a.m., Sunday at his residence in Van Wert.

He was born on December 31, 1957, in Van Wert, the son of the late Rex Craig, Sr., and Kay Delores (Shimp) Bohner. On December 8, 1984, he married the former Christina M. Rayer who survives.

Other family members include three sons, Jeremy Cox of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Nicholas Cox of Van Wert, Tony (Brandon) Craig of North Carolina; a daughter Nicole (Travis) Valle of Willshire; a brother, Anthony “Tony” (Kelly) Craig and children Amber Cereghin and Austin Craig of Van Wert; thirteen grandchildren, Mackenzie and Corbin Cox of Rockford, Evan and Kohen Cox of Van Wert, Caleb Cox of Philadelphia, Selina and Koven Valle of Willshire, Sebastian, Olivia and Simon Craig of North Carolina, Zoone, Kobe, and Maleah Craig of North Carolina.

Besides his parents, Rex was preceded in death by a son, Chad E. Cox and in-laws, Milford and Josephine Rayer.

Craig was a 1976 graduate of Van Wert High School and he was employed at K&M Tires in Delphos. He enjoyed playing his X-Box Games and watching Spongebob with his grandchildren. 
He was an avid Ohio State and New England Patriots fan. He loved his life and being with his family and friends.

Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Strabbing officiating. Interment will follow at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. Calling hours are 10 - 12 prior to the service.
