Patricia Frances (Welly) Hardy, July 24, 1939 – October 25, 2023
In Loving Memory of Patricia Frances Hardy, a Faithful Servant of Christ.
It is with profound joy and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Patricia (Patty) Frances (Welly) Hardy on October 25, 2023, at the age of 84 in the presence of her two beloved daughters at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
Patricia was born on July 24, 1939, in Bowling Green, Ohio to Frances and Mary (Hentges) Welly. She married the love of her life, Bill Hardy on December 1, 1956. She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her presence in our lives was a source of joy, inspiration, and strength.
Patricia centered her life around her faith and her family. Her love and commitment to God were unwavering. She touched the lives of countless people with her direct encouraging words, interactions of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love. She was a dedicated mother, raising her children with love and instilling in them the values of integrity, hard work, empathy and most importantly being dedicated followers of Jesus. Throughout her life, Patricia was active with church work, serving as a pastor’s wife, volunteering to help those in need and mentoring school children at different school districts. She worked for Tupperware Warehouse in Sylvania, Ohio and Maurice Spear Juvenile detention and treatment facility in Adrian, Michigan. Her life was a living testament to her faith, and she continually sought to make a positive difference in the lives of others with humility and gratitude for God's blessings. In addition to her strong faith, Patricia loved word games. She was an avid scrabble player and loved playing with family members and online.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents Francis and Mary, sister Barbara Sieving, brother Frederick Welly, daughter Margaret DePew, grandson Robbie DePew.
Patricia is survived by her sister Shirley Price; her children William (Cheryl) Hardy, Wayne (Jessica) Hardy, Tammy (Joseph) Miskowski, Michael (Sherri) Hardy and Sarah (Douglas) Cripe; her 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Her legacy of faith and love will continue through them, inspiring future generations to walk with Christ.
A celebration of her life will be held at Cowan & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 616 S. Washington St, Van Wert, OH 45891, where we will gather to celebrate her life, rejoice in the assurance that she now rests in the loving arms of our Lord and give thanks for the hope of eternal life promised by our Savior.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023, with her son, Michael Hardy officiating. Interment will follow at Ridge Cemetery, Ridge Township, Van Wert County. Calling hours are 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
