Mary J. Agler

Mary J. Agler, 78 of Van Wert, died at 1:35 a.m., Monday December 23, 2019 at the VanCrest of Delphos.

She was born on March 1, 1941 in Van Wert, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clarence “Bud” and Ruby (Johnson) Murphy.  On October 24, 1964, she married James Paul Agler, who preceded her in death on October 2, 2011.

Mary retired from Aeroquip Corp., Van Wert in 1998.  She was a 1959 graduate of Van Wert High School and a lifetime member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.

Family survivors include her son, Eric W. (Jennifer Rhea) Agler of Columbia City, IN; two daughters, Pauletta M. (Ron) Hohlbein of Delphos, and Allison R. Hammond of Van Wert; sister, Dottie Bowers of Convoy; brother, Bobby (Jill) Murphy of Poland, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Trey (Hilary) Agler, Nathan (Michelle) Agler, Seth Agler, Ryan Agler, Logan Agler, Alyssa & Danielle Hohlbein, Markie (Jeremy) Bankey, Nick Hammond and David Parsons; six great grandchildren, Braddex Agler, Aiden Agler, Chase Ratliff, Myla Bankey, Aubrey McClain and Greyson Gosewisch; and two sister-in-law, Dottie Ann and Helen.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Murphy and Harold E. Murphy; and son-in-law, Eric Hammond.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 27, 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Friend Church in Van Wert, officiated by her brother, Pastor Bobby Murphy.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, Ohio.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 26, 2-8 p.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Preferred memorials are to Trinity Friends Church.
