Obituary
Jerry Knapke, 66, of Van Wert passed away Sunday night, July 9, 2023 at his residence surround by his loving family.
He was born on July 21, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Bill Knapke and Esther (Hartings) Knapke. On June 15, 1991, he married Nancy (James) Knapke who survives at home.
Other family survivors include his children, Rachel Sergent of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Drake Knapke of Van Wert and Dustin Fensler of Van Wert; two grandchildren, Hunter and Madelynn Sergent; one sister, Linda Perez; nephews, Bobby and Joe Perez and one niece, Angie Perez.
Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by niece, Rebekah Perez.
Jerry had worked at Findlay Industries, Cooper Farms and was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1320 of Van Wert, loved watching the Cincinnati Reds play, Cleveland Browns Football and loved to play golf.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
