Gary P. Stevens, 74, of Ohio City passed away at 7:44 p.m., Friday at The James of The Ohio State University CCC in Columbus.
He was born on February 3, 1947, in Van Wert the son of the late James Howard and Viola F. (Heath) Stevens. On October 18, 1969, he married for former Connie Sue Gribler who survives.
Other family members include his son, Raymond Stevens of Ohio City; a sister, Sharon K. Norman of North Manchester, Indiana; and two brothers, Donald W. Stevens and Gayle L. (Karen) Stevens all of Van Wert.
Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Gibson and Janella Lovelette; and three brothers, David James Stevens and two in infancy.
Gary attended Crestview High School and was affiliated with the Olive Branch Church of God. He had worked at Bordens Foods then at Kennedy Manufacturing for 38 years. Gary had been a member of the Van Wert Chiefs roller hockey team. Later he enjoyed bowling, pitching horseshoes and playing cards.
Services will be a 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Bevington officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 - 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
