She was born on August 9, 1933, in Mayberry, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian (Fowler) Crouse. She married Rev. Samuel A. Brewster, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 22, 2016. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Berniece Smith and two brothers, Eugene and David Crouse.

Family survivors include her children, Deann L. (Anthony) Hardeman of St. Marys and Samuel A. (Laura) Brewster, Jr., of Lansing, Michigan; five grandchildren, Brittney (Sean) Sprague, Molly Brewster, Spencer (Abby) Brewster, Jessica (Steven) Brown and Ashley Hardeman; a great granddaughter, Samantha Banks; and a great grandson expected in December, Waylon Brown.

Dee had left school early to help her mom when she was younger. At the age of 52, she obtained her GED and certified nursing assistant at Vantage Career Center to further her education and obtain skills to care for her husband who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. As a devoted woman of God and wife she stood by her husband’s side as he served the Lord as pastor at many different churches. She was incredibly involved in the churches that she was a part of and always stopped to lend a hand to all that came to her and her husband. She was a member of New Horizons in Rockford. Dee was a compassionate, caring, and loving women who put all others before herself.  She was a home maker for many years, devoted pastors’ wife, and nurse’s aide at Shane Hill in Rockford. Dee enjoyed crafting, gardening, reading, and spending time with family. She was very devoted to family and helping others throughout her life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

There will be private services at the convenience of the family.

Preferred memorials are to Grand Lake Hospice in St. Marys, Ohio.
