Waldo Charles "Bud" Owens, 84, of Tully Township, died at 5:57 p.m., Friday shortly after arrival at Van Wert County Hospital. He was born on July 10, 1928, in Convoy, the son of the late Lyman and Merle (Finkhousen) Owens. On November 1, 1947, he married the former Joyce A. Ley who survives. Other family survivors include their three children, Marsha (Edward) Hoehn of Delphos, Michael (Tina) Owens of Van Wert, and Lisa (Tom) Baittie of Sugar Grove, IL; eight grandchildren, Chad (Melissa) Querry, Kristina (Eric Jelinger) Querry, Amanda (Brian) Setzer, Matthew (Nicole) Hoehn, Dr. Charles (Amber) Hoehn, Justin (Mandy) Owens, Lindsay Baittie and Courtney Baittie; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie (Howard) Hoblet and Juanita (Norman) Christian, both of Convoy; and three brothers, Ervin (Iva Lou) Owens of Convoy, Marvin (Lenore) Owens of Monroeville, IN and Doyt (Lois) Owens of Convoy. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marlin Owens, Donald Owens and Robert in infancy and one sister, Vivian Bowers. Bud was a supervisor at Federal Mogul for 42 years. He was a member of the Convoy United Methodist and a veteran of the Ohio National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Services will be held Sunday at 7 p.m., at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor David Prior officiating. Calling hours are Sunday 1 - 7 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert County Hospital TWIG I.
