Trella M. Gause, 85 of Van Wert, died at 2:36 p.m., Wednesday September 14, 2016 at the VanCrest Health Care Center in Van Wert, Ohio. She was born on March 19, 1931 in Whitley County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel (Marker) Gross. On September 16, 1950, she married Murray A. Gause, who survives at the residence. Trella was a homemaker and drove bus for the handicapped. She then retired from driving bus in the City. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, and was serving at a deaconess. She was a 1949 graduate of Huntertown High School in Huntertown, Indiana. She was member of Twigs I; and volunteered on demand in the church and community. Family survivors include her husband, Murray; son, Mark (Mona) Gause of Lillian, AL; two daughters. Marlene (David) Warnecke of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Roxanne (Tim) Wyman of Chillicothe, Ohio; six grandchildren, Derek & Jordan Gause, Sara & Clint Warnecke, and Averil Dunn & Andrea Miller; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Rex Ivan Gause; and brother, Thomas Gross. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 19, 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Hal Shafer. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 18, 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour ahead of the service at the church. Committal service is at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Eel River Cemetery in Eel River Township, Allen County, Indiana. Memorial contributions are to the First Presbyterian Church or the Donor's Choice.
