Sylvia Ruth Stetler, 89 of Van Wert went to be with her Lord at 2:50 a.m., Monday , May 18, 2015 at the VanCrest Health Care Center, Van Wert. She was born on January 24, 1926 in Union Township, the daughter of the late Charley Franklin and Alma Ilo (Good) Albright. On October 18, 1958, she married Denton Ralph Stetler, who preceded her in death on March 9, 2002. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles W., Gale M., and Carl E. Albright. Sylvia had worked in the office of the Van Wert Manufacturing Company and the Brumback Library. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church and Jubilee Sunday School Class where she was president of the class from 1986-2002. She also sang in the church choir for over 50 years and was president of the Martha Circle from 1997-2004. She was a 1944 graduate of Van Wert High School and attended Taylor University. She was the first chairwoman of the Christian Business & Professional Women's Club. She greatly enjoyed nature, especially bird watching. She and Denton also spent many happy times traveling the United States. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 10:00 a.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Adam Borsay of Calvary Evangelical Church. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment is at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Evangelical Church.
