Sandra Kay Scheidt, 74, of Van Wert, passed away at 6:20 p.m, Friday at the Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on August 9, 1939, in Columbia City, Indiana, the daughter of the late Benjamin Paul and Zelma I. (Garman) Pequignot. On June 3, 1961, she married Robert Basil Scheidt who preceded her in death on December 15, 2012. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Ann and Betty Lou Pequignot. Family survivors include her daughter, Deborah Scheidt of Germany; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Mona Scheidt of Van Wert, Douglas and Erin Scheidt of Annapolis, Maryland, and John and Krista Scheidt of Wheaton, IL; and eleven grandchildren, Karl, Rebecca, Annika, Lauren, Rachael, Jacob, Benjamin, Lizzie, Jack, and Joshua, and Micah. Sandy was a member of First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Van Wert with Rev. Gus Christo-Baker officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the First United Methodist Church.
