Ruby Emma Doan, 91 of Van Wert, died at 12:10 a.m., Friday July 22, 2016 at the C.H.P.-Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert, Ohio. She was born on June 11, 1925 in Ridge Township, Van Wert County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie L. (Mathew) Cowgill. On August 5, 1944, she married Franklin Howard Doan, who preceded her in death on December 28, 2007. Ruby was a homemaker, also worked at Derry Drugs, was a Avon saleswoman, and as a cargiver for various local people. She was a member of Ohio City United Methodist Church and 1943 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School. Family survivors include her daughter, Annelle (Larry) Reynolds of Spencerville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Randy (Jeri) Reynolds, Trent (Amy) DeCamp, Kari (Tim) Weidner, Shane (Stacy) Reynolds, and Alyssa Young; and great grandchildren, Cody, Kayla, Blake, & Zach Reynolds, Katie & Natalie DeCamp, Brooke Young, and Erin & Lindsay Weidner. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy DeCamp on September 3, 2013; and three brothers, George Augustus Cowgill, Leonard Emery Cowgill, and Harold Everett Cowgill. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 25, 6:00 p.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Kevin Wilcox of the Ohio City United Methodist Church. Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 3-6 p.m.. Interment is at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, Ohio. Memorial contributions to the Ohio City United Methodist Church.
