Rose Elaine Lichtenberger, 81, of Wren, passed away at 11:58 a.m., Thursday at the Van Wert C.H.P. Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on April 28, 1932, in Ridge Township, the daughter of the late Harvey D. and Bernice Leota (Weyer) Shook. On July 1, 1951, she married Charles Lichtenberger who survives. Other family members include a son, Gary (Gayle) Lichtenberger; two daughters, Joanne (Allen) Shinnaberry and Lois (Tod) Waltz, all of Van Wert; four grandchildren, Shelley, Shiela, Jesse and Justis; four great grandchildren; a brother, Rev. Robert (Nancy) Shook of Willshire; and two sisters, Jacqueline (John) Hunter of Glenmore and Mary Alice (Charles) Sanders of Van Wert. She was preceded in death by a brother, Russel Shook and two sisters, Lulu Glee Ayers and Katherine Almerta Hoverman. Rose attended Ridge High School and had attended Wren United Brethren Church. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, August 11, 1-7 p.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by her brother, Rev. Robert Shook. Interment is in Greenbrier Cemetery in Willshire Township, Van Wert County, Ohio. Memorial contribution may be made to the C.H.P. Inpatient Hospice Center, Wren Fire Department of the Family.
