Robert P. Morris, 78, of Van Wert passed away Saturday afternoon at Vancrest of Van Wert.

He was born on January 23, 1942, in Van Wert the son of the late Palmer and Elsie (Louck) Morris. On October 15, 1966, he married the former Sheila McAbee who survives.

Other family members include his children, Toby (Lee) Watson of Van Wert, Robert E. (Amy) Morris of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Tracy Lynn Letcher of Phoenix, Arizona; and several grandchildren.

Robert retired from General Electric in Fort Wayne, then worked for eighteen years for the Van Wert County Engineer's Office. He attended Countryside Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Van Wert County Outdoorsmen Association. He enjoyed hunting, collecting model trains, and was a Boy Scout leader for many years.

Private services will be held at a later date.
