Robert Eugene "Bob" Bowen, 76, of Van Wert, died at 10:23 p.m. Friday, at the C.H.P.-Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on November 8, 1938, in Van Wert, the son of the late Herman Gayle and Ida Emma (Schaadt) Bowen. Family survivors include his daughter, Susan K. (Todd ) Semer of Ohio City; a son Terry A. Bowen of New Lexington, Ohio; three granddaughters, Shawna (Shaun) Putman, Stacia (Brad) Grose and Trista Semer and fiancé Kody Kill; seven great grandchildren, Brynn, Kellin, Liam, Beckam, Huxley, Graylie and Truitt; and three brothers, Richard "Dick" (Jill) Bowen of Ohio City, Frank (Cheryl) Bowen of Ohio City, and Steve (Jane) Bowen of Rockford. Bob was a 1958 graduate of Wren High School and retired from the Van Wert County Engineer's Office. He was a member of American Legion Post #178, Van Wert and the Loyal Order of Moose. He loved the "Bowen" farm, anything John Deere, NASCAR, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Reds. He greatly enjoyed classic comedy and western shows, woodworking, country music, nature, animals, cars and his family. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thurday, November 5. 2015, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday 3 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Crestview F.F.A. and the C.H.P Inpatient Hospice Center.
