Ricky Wayne "Rick" Ellinger, 61, of Liberty Township, passed away at 10:51 p.m., Wednesday at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on August 16, 1952, the son of the late John William and Margaret Ruth (Davis) Ellinger. On October 15, 1983, he married the former Sue Ann Hurless who survives. Other family members include two sons, Josh (Ashlee) Ellinger and Tristan Ellinger, all of Cincinnati; a daughter, Ricki Sue Ellinger; three grandchildren, Lily, Nate and Carson Ellinger; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Janet Ann Knapke. Rick had worked at Tecumseh Box Company and as administrator of the Van Wert Moose Lodge. He was affiliated with the Ohio City United Methodist Church and was a member of Moose Lodge 1320, Van Wert. Rick enjoyed hunting, antique tractor pulling and especially the time he spent with his family. A celebration of Rick's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2013, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Wilcox officiating. Interment will be made at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. Calling hours are Sunday 1 - 6 p.m. and Monday after 10 a.m. Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or Ohio City E.M.S.
