Richard K. "Dick" Eleyet, 84 of rural Van Wert, died at 6:20 p.m., Monday July 18, 2016 at the VanCrest Health Care Center in Van Wert, Ohio. He was born on December 12, 1931 in Lebanon, Ohio, the son of the late Paul R. and Roselle L. (Miller) Eleyet. On June 12, 1960, he married Patricia Sue (Ralston), who survives at the residence. Dick retired in 1988 from Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert after being lead maintenance for 30 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert; and passionate about the church choir. He was a former Staff Sgt of the United State Air Force from 1951-1955 having been stationed in Texas; he was a member of the American Legion Post #178, Van Wert; and a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School. He is survived by his wife Sue; sister, Carlita Hunter of Charlotte, North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Tina) Doner and Darin (Chris) Doner, both of Van Wert, Brett Doner of Arizona, Marsha (Chip) Hankins and Butch Gemin, both of Colorado, and Suzanne Curtis of North Carolina; and many great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece and great-great nephews. Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, July 22, 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, officiated by Rev. Hal Shafer. Visitation is scheduled from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment is at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with military honors by the combined post of the American Legion #178 & V.F.W. Post #5803.
