Retha M. Brown, 84, of Van Wert, died at 9:05 p.m., Saturday at the Van Wert Manor Nursing Home. She was born on September 28, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Asa and Hessell (Allen) Hill. On June 21, 1948, she married Raymond Robert Brown and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1990. Family survivors include her daughter, Nancy Riley of Van Wert; a son, Keith R. Brown of Van Wert; three grandchildren, Danny McPhail, Kyle A. Brown, and Tayah R. Brown; and two great grandchildren, Kaylee and Nicholas Ryan McPhail. Retha operated a beauty shop in Venedocia for 18 years and was a nurse's aide at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home for 28 years. There will be no visitation or services.
