Laura Jane "Peg" Schwartz, 92, of York Township, died at 1 a.m., Sunday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert. She was born on July 10, 1925, in Middle Point, the daughter of the late James Raymond and Mary Frances (Coil) Lewis. On November 16, 1942, she married Robert Hanson Schwartz who died on April 29, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Eldiva Jeanne Pollock Wise; two brothers, Robert Myron Lewis and J.O. Lewis in infancy; and a great granddaughter. Family survivors include three daughters, Sally Ann (Albert) D'Autorio of Kissimmee, Florida, Barbara Clark of Van Wert, and Sandy (Brian) Stahl of Trimble, Tennessee; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Peg was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert and had done volunteer work for the Van Wert Manor Nursing Home and the American Red Cross at Van Wert County Hospital. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Post 346 and Ohio City and the Van Wert Moose Lodge. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Brian Stahl officiating. There will be calling hours 9 a.m., until time of service on Thursday.
