Paul C. Dangler, 69, of rural Van Wert, passed away at 8:55 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013. He was born on June 8, 1943, in Van Wert the son of the late Chester Paul and Isabelle (Kiggins) Dangler. He married the former Della Jean Mottinger on July 18, 1970, and she survives. Family survivors include two daughters, Renee Runyon of Van Wert and Jackie (Robert) Murray of Wren; one sister, Darlene Fulk of Van Wert; and six grandchildren, Josh Runyon, Kelsey Shaffer, Amber Runyon, Madison Shaffer, Bud Shaffer and Megan Shaffer. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Dangler and his parents-in-law, Gerald "Shag" and Wanda Hurless. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army and operated Countryside Towing of Van Wert. He had raced sprint cars for a number of years. He enjoyed spending time with family and his grandkids. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery in Willshire Township.
