Obituary

Nina Duella Dealey, 89, of Convoy, passed away at 3:42 p.m., Thursday at the Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on April 21, 1925, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Francis and Duella (Krauter) Krick. On August 2, 1941, she married Oliver Henry Dealey who died on July 21, 1995. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Perth and Viola Krick. Family survivors include her four children, Rosina N. Thatcher of Decatur, Indiana, Larry J. Dealey of Convoy, Basil H. (Margy) Dealey of Convoy, and Byron (Marsha) Dealey of New Castle, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Mrs. Dealey was a homemaker and also operated with her husband Dealey Chemicals where she served as secretary. She was a member of the former Walnut Grove Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and president of the Women's Aide. She was currently a member of the Convoy United Methodist Church and of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Convoy Grange, Convoy Farmers' Wives, Japonica Garden Club, Boarding Neighbors Purdue Home Extension Club, and a former advisor for the Union 4-H Club. She was an avid card player in Monroeville and Decatur and enjoyed traveling. Services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Leigh officiating. Interment will follow at Dealey Cemetery in Paulding County. Calling hours are Saturday 2 - 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Preferred memorials are to the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center or the Convoy United Methodist Church.
