Nancy Jill Sheets went to be with the Lord and Savior on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 7:05 p.m., at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert. She was born on August 17, 1950 in Van Wert County to the daughter of the late Margaret (Schwartz) Pierce and Edwin J. Pierce surviving of of Rockford. Mrs. Sheets was a 1968 graduate of Crestview High School, Convoy, Ohio and a 1994 graduate of Wright State University Lake Campus, Celina. On August 27, 1983, married Michael Dean Sheets who survives. In her lifetime Mrs. Sheets had various jobs. She worked as a cashier, a waitress, clerical work and then a factory employee at the Kennedy Kit Manufacturing Company for 17 years. Mrs Sheets retired from Vantage Career Center as a cook in December 2012. As a member of First Baptist Church in Van Wert, Mrs Sheets helped out and took part in the many activities and projects of the church always giving a willing and helping hand. Nancy and her husband Mike spent many enjoyable hours at Big Lake, Indiana fishing and swimming. They also have done extensive traveling in their lifetime. They had many beloved pets over the years that were like children to Mike and Nancy - Molly our "fishing dog" and many beloved cats. She was looking forward to being with her Lord and Savior. The family rejoices in knowing she is in the presence of the Lord. Other survivors include a sister Mrs. Carolyn (Max) Priddy of Van Wert, a brother David J. (Karen) Pierce of Indianapolis, Indiana, sister and brother-in-law Sam (Kathy) Hauter of Van Wert, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Convoy. Calling hours will be held 2 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home and one hour ahead of services Wednesday at the Church. Preferred memorials are to the First Baptist Church of Van Wert or the Van Wert Hospice Center.
