Obituary

Nancy Edinger, 76, passed away at 11:57 p.m., Friday at her home in Van Wert. She was born on August 14, 1937, in Ironton, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Robert Louis and Mildred Alice (Holmes) King. On December 30, 1956, she married Robert H. Edinger who survives. Other family members include, a daughter, Debra Sue (Randy) Ruhl of Nolanville, TX; two sons, Joseph Robert (Susan) Edinger of Millersburg, OH and John Howard (Sharon) Edinger of Delphos, OH; eight grandchildren, Douglas (Sara) Ruhl, Michael (Stephanie) Ruhl, Cody Ruhl, David (Olivia) Edinger, Joel Edinger, Joy Edinger, Emily and Darren Edinger; great grandchildren, Ethan and Benjamin Ruhl and Lydia to be born in March; and one sister, Mary Ann Mihm of Van Wert. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Gene and David and a sister, Freda. Nancy was a graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Bluffton College. She was a retired special needs aide at Van Wert City Schools. She was a member of First United Brethren in Christ Church of Van Wert and its Ladies Aide. Nancy had a Christian service heart which was witnessed by her generosity to others. She was an example of love and motherhood to her friends and family. She will be sorely missed by all. She was an active member of her church and involved in their organizations and projects for youth. She loved her family and being an American. She made several blankets and heating pads for service families who were left at home during their service member's deployment. Her priorities were family, friends and Christmas. One of her great joys was being Mrs. Claus during the Christmas Season visiting home and organizations during the holidays. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the First United Brethren in Christ Church with Pastor Jody Harr officiating. Calling hours are 9 - 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at a later date of Maple Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, Ohio Preferred memorials are to the First United Brethren in Christ Church.
