Obituary

Myron Wayne Thornell, a long-time resident of Convoy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 21, in Cadillac, Michigan. Myron was a devoted man of God and lived out his faith through sharing that faith with others and always putting his own work aside to help those around him. Myron was hardworking. As much as he enjoyed growing things through farming and gardening, he was known to plant seeds of love and kindness through his quiet, gentle spirit. Myron, a Naval WWII Veteran, and Donna Thornell, who preceded him in death in 2014, had two children. A daughter Shirley (Robert) Taylor of Cadillac, Michigan and a son, Randall Wayne Thornell of Napoleon (Trayce Thornell of Van Wert). He was blessed with six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Thornell as well as a sister, Rachel Hunter, and 3 brothers, Earl, Arnold, and Robert Thornell. The service for Myron will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, at Grace Bible Church, 603 Airport Avenue, Van Wert, with Pastor Lance Hostetler officiating. Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Convoy. Calling hours will be held at the Cowan & Son Funeral Home on Friday, February 10 from 5-8 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the funeral service. Preferred memorials are to the Grace Bible Church.
