Misty Rae McLaughlin, 32 of Decatur and formerly of Van Wert, died at 12:10 p.m., Saturday at Kindred Hospital in Lima, Ohio.

She was born on September 14, 1987, in Bellaire, Ohio the daughter of Leona (Howard) Nieter who survives in Decatur.

Other family members include her sister, Jessica Reynolds of Decatur; two brothers, Curtis Sempkowski of Van Wert and Cory Howard of Decatur; Misty's grandfather, John Howard, Sr., of Van Wert; seven nephews; three nieces; and one great nephew.

Misty enjoyed drawing and writing poetry.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert with Rev. Harold Shafer officiating. There will be calling hours 1 - 2 p.m., prior to the service at the Church.

Preferred memorials are to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
