Miriam Iris Oechsle, 87, of Ohio City, died at 1 p.m., Thursday at the Laruels of Shane Hill near Rockford. She was born on July 28, 1929, in Ohio City the daughter of the late Lester Eulus and Grace L. (Mihm) Exline. She married Marvin Franklin Oechsle who died on August 25, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Warren O. Exline; a sister, Charlene Lynch; a nephew, Robert W. Exline; and a niece, Connie Callow. Survivors include a son, Timothy (Julie) Oechsle of St. Marys; a daughter, Carol (Ken) Mace of Van Wert; three grandchildren, Jeremy Bankey, Jeff Oechsle and Heather Oechsle; and two great grandchildren, Caleb Bankey and Hadley Iris Oechsle. Miriam was a 1947 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ohio City. Miriam had worked at the Montgomery Ward store in Van Wert and retired from Teleflex in Van Wert with 12 years of service. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 22, 2017, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Janine Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery.
