Michael Tunis, 64 of Van Wert, died Friday March 1, 2013 at his residence. He was born on May 19, 1948 in Grant County, Indiana, ths son of the late William and Ethelena (Sharp) Tunis. Mike was a 1966 graduate of Paulding High School; Veteran of the U.S. Army; member of the American Legion Post #178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5803; Delphos Eagles and Loyal Order of Moose, Van Wert. Family survivors include his three daughters, Amanda N. (Jason) Morrison of Syracuse, Indiana, Brook Tunis and Philip Kahle of Van Wert, and Courtney (Drew) Doner of Kaleen, Texas; two brothers, Terrence Tunis of Paulding, Ohio and Scott (Reese) Tunis of Summerfield, Florida; four sisters, Cheryl (Richard) Emerling of Paulding, Judith Cook of Fort Wayne, Tammy Dugan of Paulding, and Lorna (Jeff) Beining of Ottawa; and four grandchildren, Grace & Derek Morrison, Lydia Fry, and Jericho Doner. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Tunis. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 4, 3:00 p.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, 616 S. Washington Street, Van Wert, Ohio, officiated by Pastor Randy Bevington of the Ohio City Church of God. Visitation is from noon to 3:00 p.m. Monday.
