Michael B. Thomas, 58, of Van Wert passed away at 9:47 a.m., Tuesday shortly after arrival at Van Wert Health.

He was born on March 22, 1963, in Van Wert the son of the late Louis Thomas and Carol (Sheets) Thomas who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include his special girlfriend and companion, Michele Shuler of Decatur, Indiana; a sister, Michele (Azeem Misih) Thomas of Paulding; a niece, Ariel Thomas-Misih of Paulding; four aunts, Sue Thomas of Van Wert, Ardeth Edwards of Auburn, Indiana, Patty Sheets of Traverse City, Michigan, and Joan Sheets of Fort Wayne; an uncle, David Sheets of Traverse City; and many cousins.

Besides his father, Mike was preceded in death by an aunt, Marilyn Sheets and two uncles, John Thomas and Vance Sheets.

Mike was a 1981 graduate of Van Wert High School and 1982 graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College. He had worked at Elgin Service Center for eight years. He was a lifetime member in good standing of the Wetzel Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed flying radio control model airplanes, woodworking and pyrography

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at noon at Wetzel Motorcycle Club, 20508 Road 12, Grover Hill, Ohio 45849. The public is invited.
