Michael Brent Rowland, 67, passed away Tuesday at 4:20 a.m., at his residence in Middle Point. He was born on September 1, 1948, in Van Wert, the son of the late Carl G. and Gertrude M. (Dixon) Rowland. On June 21, 1980, he married the former Colleen Carroll who survives in Middle Point. Other family members include three sons, Brian (Danielle) Rowland of Columbus, OH, Gregg Rowland of Louisville, KY, and J.B. (Sarah) Richie of Florida; four daughters, Tabatha (Matt) Blackmore of Van Wert, Angela Bustos of Van Wert, Kristina (Steve) Bowen of Elida, and Jayleen (Rob) Derryberry of Florida; a brothers, Robert (Barbara) Rowland of Cullman, Alabama; twenty-two grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Rodgers. He was a 1966 graduate of Van Wert High School, a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, and a member of American Legion Post #178, Van Wert. Mike retired from Federal Mogul in Van Wert with 46 years of service. He was a loving husband and father and always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always ready with a smile for whomever he met. Calling hours will be Friday 2 - 6 p.m., at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. There will be a grave side service Sunday, January 10, 2016, at 1 p.m., at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the combined honor guard of the American Legion and V.F.W. Posts of Van Wert.
