Mary Eileen Dawson, 88, of Convoy, died at 12:35 p.m., Wednesday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert. She was born on February 8, 1929, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late John Jay and Cora M. (Dunn) Creavenor. On April 13, 1946, she married William Herbert Dawson who also preceded her in death on June 26, 2002. Family survivors include her daughter, Kathy J. Wieman of Convoy; four sons, William H. Dawson, Jr., of Convoy, Richard L. Dawson of Van Wert. Gary L. Dawson of Van Wert and Bryan H. Dawson of Van Wert; five grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Mary was a member of the Convoy United Methodist Church. She retired from North American Phillips in Van Wert. She was a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary both of Van Wert. Mary enjoyed puzzles, gardening and just being outdoors. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2017, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
