Martha L. Spahr, 92, of Lima, passed away at 7 a.m., Tuesday at the Lima Convalescent Home. She was born on April 6, 1921, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Cloyd Abraham and Treva Leota (Agler) Fowler. She married Ernest Joseph "Slim" Spahr on July 16, 1949, and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a sister in infancy Family member include her daughter, Nancy (Doug) Thompson of Lima; a step daughter, Connie Ann Lowry also of Lima; one brother, Jerry Lee (Connie) Fowler of Temperance, MI; one sister, Ruth Alberta (Herbert) Blackmon of King, NC; two grandchildren, Kellie (Fitzhugh) Crawford, Jr. Of Waterville, OH and James D. Thompson, Jr. of Cincinnati; three great grandchildren, Jacqueline (Nathaniel B.) Garrett of Cincinnati, Hannah Crawford of Kent, Ohio, and Fitzhugh Crawford, III of Waterville; four step grandchildren, Eric (Lisa) Lowry of West Chester, OH, Cindy (Gary) Martin of Lima, Scott (Kris) Lowry of Findlay, and Douglas (Teresa) Lowry of Spencerville, OH; ten step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild. Martha had worked in several drug stores and restaurants in the Lima and Van Wert areas. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Auglaize County. Calling hours are noon to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the funeral.
