Mark Allen Gillette, 47 of Van Wert, died at 10:56 p.m., Friday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on February 4, 1967, in Fort Wayne, the son of Delores A. (Debacher) Gillette of Van Wert and the late Franklin LeRoy Gillette who died on May 31, 2005. On April 29, 2014, he married the former Samantha Carpenter, surviving of Van Wert. Other family member include his children, Brayden Michael Gillette of Van Wert, Destiney Dawn Gillette of Van Wert, Jasmine Ann Paul of Rockford, Megan Ann (Mike) Keipper of Van Wert, Kristie Allen Gillette of Celina, and Kyllee N. Gillette of Celina; a step-son, Christopher David Carpenter of Van Wert; three grandchildren, J.J. Rupert, Dominic Fredrick, and Zabin Keipper; and ten brothers and sisters, Michelle Lee Foster of Van Wert, Marky Gillette of Van Wert, Connie (Steve) Parr of Hopewell, Frank Gillette, Jr. of Ottawa, Bob Gillette of Ottawa, Gary Gillette of Ottawa, David (Pam) Gillette of Ottawa, Tom (Trisha) Gillette of Ottawa and Barb Hazelton of Ottawa. He was preceded in death a son, Cody Michael Gillette. Mark was a graduate of Van Wert High School and was employed at Lakeview Farms. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Lance Hostetler of Grace Bible Church officiating. Interment will follow at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 - 9 p.m., Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to the Family.
