Marjorie Helen Riley, 86, of Ohio City, passed away at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday a the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on March 12, 1928, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Isaac and Amy (Carr) Pearson. On October 29, 1948, she married Ralph H. Riley who survives. Other survivors include her son, David Riley of Van Wert; her daughter, Robbi (Steve) Rhodes of Lima; six grandchildren, Amanda, Austin and Noah Riley, Derek, Kyle and Riley Rhodes; and two great grandchildren, Trenton and Addison Ricker. She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry; a brother, Howard Pearson; and two sisters, Marie Watson and Betty Speakman. Marjorie had worked at Federal Mogul in Van Wert and had been a swimming instructor at the YWCA. She was a 1946 graduate of Van Wert High School and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 346 of Ohio City. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2014, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the Ohio City Parks.
