Marilyn Kathleen (Billieu) Darras, was born October 20, 1930, and passed away on January, 23, 2014 at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born to the late Gladys M.(Gill) Billieu and Orley F. Billieu in Ohio City, Ohio. Marilyn attended the Ohio City Grammar School, moved to Van Wert and attended the Van Wert High School during her freshman year. Marilyn enjoyed sports, she played softball and basketball. She also loved to dance and listen to music, and won several dance competition trophies. As a young girl Marilyn was taught by her Uncle Willard, to play the ukulele. Marilyn was the youngest of four children. Later in life, Marilyn began working in the medical field and through continuing education became a LPN, where she worked for the Van Wert County Hospital, Dr. Smith, and the Van Wert Manor. Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother Gladys M. Billieu, father Orley F. Billieu, and a brother Junior Kelsey. Marilyn has four children, Vicki (Robert) Burley, Kathie Hinsey, Cindy (Edwin) Karhoff, and Jason (Sondra) Darras. She also has twelve grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include two sisters, Pauline (Richard) Ellinger and Virginia Gamble. There will be visitation at Cowan's Funeral Home on January 27th, from 12:00 (noon) until 3:00 pm, with the funeral service directly following visitation at 3:00 p.m., also at the Cowan Funeral Home. Preferred memorials are to the Community Health Professionals Hospice Center of Van Wert, Ohio.
