Marie Claire Bailey, 69, tragically passed to her Lord and Creator on November 23, 2021, in Butler AL.

She was born on February 18, 1952, in Teagu (Deagu), South Korea and Marie was adopted and welcomed by her American adoptive parents, Leonard and Frances Bailey, and arrived in Van Wert, Ohio on Dec. 4, 1956.

While growing up Marie attended Anthony Wayne School, St Mary’s Catholic School, and Van Wert Lincoln Jr. High and Van Wert High School, after high school Marie resided in Toledo, OH before moving to Alabama.

In Lisman, AL Marie was active in her community, donating much time and gifts to those in need. Marie was a proud member of the Lisman Volunteer Fire Department, County Rescue Squad, and Senior Activity Center.

At the time of her death, Marie was survived by a son Donell (Krystal) Bailey, of Montgomery AL and 2 daughters, Priscilla Marie of Lisman AL, who has since passed, and Franchesca Nicole of Glendale AZ, seven grandchildren. One brother, Andrew, of Pittsburgh, survives. Marie also left many close friends and relatives in Lisman and Butler AL.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Frances Bailey McBroom, and a brother, Charles.

Marie will be buried in a memorial and burial service at the Woodland Union Cemetery in Van Wert on September 17, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Thomas P. Hunyor, Jr. officiating.
