Lois L. Sutton, 95, passed away at 1 p.m., Wednesday at her residence in Ohio City. She was born on March 27, 1921, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Ray F. and Willa Naomi (Kampf) Ickes. On May 3, 1940, she married Claybern Zachriah Sutton who preceded her in death on October 8, 2005. Family survivors include her four children, Paul Sutton of Columbus, Barbara (Dan) Moffitt of Weaverville, North Carolina, Larry (Bonita) Sutton of Van Wert, and Cindy Skinner of Van Wert; eight grandchildren Joseph (Erin) Sutton, Jill Aebker, Shane (Carmen) Sutton, Brett Sutton, Jaime (Ben) Suvar, Elizabeth (Shannon) Williams, Lisa (Rob) Akes and Steve (Michelle) Amweg; and twelve great grandchildren, Jesse Akes, Madeline Akes, Emily Akes, Caroline Akes, Anne Marie Sutton, Garrett Sutton, Frances Ann Aebker, Alayna Suvar, Morgan Suvar, Conchita Sutton, Krystyan Williams, and Levi Williams. Besides her parents and husband, Lois was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannette Louise Sutton; two brothers, Donald Eugene Ickes and Dane Wilson Ickes; and one sister, Vera Dibert. Lois was a 1939 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School and a lifelong member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Ohio City. She had worked at Yours and Mine Restaurant and the Van Wert County Hospital. She was a member of Van Wert Chapter No. 48, Order of the Eastern Star. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Denise Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday 1 - 3 p.m. Preferred memorials are to St. Johns Lutheran Church.
