Lois E. Owens, 77, of Convoy, passed away at 7:05 a.m., Sunday, August 3, 2014, at her residence. She was born on August 20, 1936, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Otto G. and Ethel (Lee) Krugh of rural Convoy. On May 20, 1956, she married Doyt L. Owens who survives. Lois was a graduate of Convoy-Union High School and was a member of Countryside Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and also worked at Thomas Edison Early Childhood Center. She is survived by her husband Doyt; two children, Cindy (Robert) Perkins and Scott D. Owens, both of Convoy; three grandchildren, Keri L. Perkins of Ashville, OH, Matthew (Katie) Perkins of Convoy, and Jamie (Brian) Butt of Cincinnati; sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Howard) Hoblet of Convoy, Juanita (Norman) Christian of Convoy, and Joyce Owens of Van Wert; brothers-in-law, Ervin (Iva Lou) Owens of Van Wert, Marvin (Lenore) Owens of Monroeville, Indiana, and Wilmer Bowers of Convoy. She was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Krugh; one sister, Jean Bultemeier; in-laws, Richard Bultemeier, Waldo Owens, Marvin Owens, and Vivian Bowers; and nephews, Jim Bultemeier and Lee Hoblet. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Countryside Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Karges officiating. Interment will follow at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Countryside Chapel United Methodist Church or Community Health Professionals Hospice.
