Lois Kathryn Kiehl, 93, of Van Wert, died at 2:10 a.m., Monday at VanCrest in Convoy. She was born on August 31, 1920, in Van Wert County, the daughter of Orbie and Nellie (Harter) Fisher. On October 13, 1940, she married Arthur Glenn Kiehl who preceded her in death on July 18, 1997. Family members include a son, Raymond G. (Joan) Kiehl of Convoy; a daughter, Judy Bustin of Columbus; one grandson, Alan J. (Vickie) Kiehl of Westerville; a great grandson, Brady G. Kiehl of Baltimore, Maryland; her sister, Doris Galloway of Ohio City; and three step great grandchildren, Andrew, Jordan and Alex Morrow. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Fisher; a sister, Margaret Greulach; and son-in-law, John Bustin. Lois was a homemaker and nurse's aide at Van Wert County Hospital, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church in America, Harrison Township and a member of the Women's Guild. She was a 1940 Peony Queen candidate from Ridge High School. Lois loved her family. When they came to visit her there would always be a plate of cookies to take home with them. Everyone looked forward to Christmas time and the box of cookies they would receive from her. She loved her job on the maternity floor of the hospital where she took care of the babies and got a chance to rock them. She will always be loved and missed by her family and many friends. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013, at St. Paul's Reformed Church in America in Harrison Township with Rev. Chad Strabbing officiating. Calling hours are 4 - 7 p.m., Wednesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow later at Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the St. Paul's Reformed Church in American or the St. Paul's Women's Fellowship Group.
