Obituary

Kenneth A. "Ken" Kundert, 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 27, 2013 at 10:15 a.m., in the presence of his family and under the loving care of the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on March 7, 1937, in York Township, the son of Forrest and Pauline (Keysor) Kundert. On Sept. 27, 1958 - 55 years ago to the day - he married the love of his life Connie (Foster) Kundert who survives. Also surviving are his mother Pauline (Keysor) Kundert Gamble of Van Wert; two sons, Kent (Cathy) Kundert of Ohio City and Keith (Julie) Kundert of Convoy; four grandchildren, Cameran Kundert of Dedham, Massachusetts, Kurt (Danielle) Kundert of Ohio City, Nathan Schaefer of Fort Wayne and Rheannon (Jeff) Fetters of Findlay; great grandchildren Kale and Katie Kundert with brother Karson expected in December; one sister, Shirley (Dick) Bolton of Elgin; one sister-in-law, Janice Bollenbacher; four brothers-in-law, Larry (Betty) Foster, Bob (Vickie) Foster, Denny (Jill) Foster and Greg Foster; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Forrest and brother-in-law Don Bollenbacher. Ken was employed by Aeroquip Corp. For 33 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, writer, fiddle player and a member of the gospel singing Soul Seekers. He loved his family, friends, nature and the simple lifestyle; a strong believer in American liberty; and attended Zion Christian Union Church and Trinity Friends Church. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 30th, with Revs. Neil Hammons and Mark McKay officiating at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will follow at Ridge Cemetery. Visiting hours are 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday and one hour prior to the services on Monday. Preferred memorial is to any local food pantry of the donor's choice.
