Joseph Louis Burk 62, of Convoy, passed away at 1:41 a.m., Tuesday at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born on May 28, 1954, the son of the late Leo Stanley and Shirley Mae (Painter) Burk. On January 19, 1975, he married the former Sandra Clark who survives. Other family members include a daughter, Alisa (Venice, Jr.) Roberts of Van Wert; a son, Jason (Valerie) Burk of Hillard, Ohio; three brothers, Stanley (Cheryl) Burk of Convoy, Ricky Lee Burk of Van Wert, and Steven (Terri) Burk of Ney, OH; a sisters, Pamela (Bob) Duncan of Wauseon, OH; seven grandchildren, Brittany (Jon) Straley, Venice Roberts III, Brayden Sellers, Caleb Dareny, Ciara Burk, Connor Smitley and Kylie Smitley; and one great grandson, Venice Roberts IV. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Terry and a brother Jerry Burk. Joe was a 1972 graduate of Edon High School and retired from Greif Brothers in Van Wert. He loved being outside, working, fishing, and spending time with his grand kids. He also enjoyed Ohio State football, traveling, collecting coins and model cars. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 - 8 p.m., Friday.
