Joanne Rickard, age 90, passed away Friday evening, February 7, 2025, at her home in rural Rockford.

She was born on March 16, 1934, in Van Wert County the daughter of the late Wilbur Reed and Helen Marguerite (Slattery) Wise. On September 20, 1952, she married Deloyd Marion Rickard who passed away on May 9, 2019.

Family survivors include her two sons, Timothy (Bev) Rickard of Rockford and LaVon D. (Darlene) Rickard of Knoxville, Tennessee; a sister, Sandra (James) Prichard of Rockford; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Joanne was preceded in death by two sons, Laverne C. Rickard and Tad Alan Rickard.

Joanne was a 1952 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School and had attended Rockford Belle Community Church. She had worked at the Prichard Grocery in Ohio City and as a cook at the Ohio City-Liberty School. She enjoyed bowling in several local leagues, fishing, but most of all spending time with her family.

There will be no public services.
