Joan C. Lockhart, 72, of Decatur, died at 12:31 p.m., Tuesday at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on November 16, 1943, in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Naomi G. (McCoy) Wheeler. On December 9, 1961, she married Jimmy Alan Lockhart and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1998. Family survivors include three daughters, Stacy (Mike) Snider of Decatur, Dianne (Tracy) Chrisman of Neptune, OH, and Beth Lockhart of Decatur; a son, Christopher (Gail) Lockhart of Decatur; ten grandchildren, April Adams, Stephanie Blancas, Michelle Snider, Justin Chrisman, Shalynn Chrisman, Jacob Chrisman, Trevor Callahan, Amanda Callahan, Summer Lockhart, and Amy McDonald; and nine great grandchldren. She was also preceded in death by two children, Scott Alan Lockhart and Stephanie Lockhart; and a sister, Sharon Willette Hernandez. Joan was a 1961 graduate of Van Wert High School and had worked as a home health care worker. She was a member of the First Church of God in Van Wert. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2016, at First Church of God with Pastor Jason Hollar officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 3 - 7 p.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert and one hour prior to services Friday at the Church. Preferred memorials are to the First Church of God or CHP Inpatient Hospice Center.
