James J. Carr, 66, of Ohio City, died at 1:35 p.m., Monday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert. He was born on April 25, 1949, in Van Wert, the son of the late Victor Martin and Ola Mae (Fry) Carr. On November 10, 1968, he married the former Sheryl Ann Courtney who survives. Other family members include his three children, Scott Carr of Van Wert, Jamie Carr of Ohio City, and Vicki (Rex) Marbaugh of Van Wert; three grandchildren, Leslie and Abbi Marbaugh and Korbin Carr; and one brother, Michael E. (Vickie) Carr of Louisville, KY. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne Carr. Jim attended Ohio City-Liberty High School and retired from Tecumseh Box Company with 46 years of service. He had been a member of the Ohio City Volunteer Fire Department. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2015, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Bevington of the Ohio City Community Church of God officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 2 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Ohio City Fire Department or the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center.
