Janet Eileen Peters, age 84, a resident of Sarah Jane Living Center, Delphos, died at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born Nov. 26, 1928 in Van Wert County, the daughter of Oscar and Frieda (Gehres) Kiehl. On Feb. 4, 1951, she married Donald L. Peters, who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2011. Surviving are a daughter, Donna (Mike) Porter of Paulding; a son, Dennis (Pam) Peters of Prospect; nine grandchildren, Andy (Gabrielle) Porter, Sarah (Curt) Bibler, Ben (Sarah) Porter, Dan (Laura) Porter, Anna (Oliver) Turner, Isaac Porter, Angie (Craig) Schnoebelen, Matt (April) Peters and Adam (Danielle) Peters; and 19 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Peters; and two brothers, Arthur Glenn Kiehl and Clifford Eugene Kiehl. Janet was a 1946 graduate of Van Wert High School. She was a homemaker and member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Michael Saylor officiating. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Convoy. Calling hours are Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services all at Redeemer Lutheran Church, south of Convoy on State Route 49. Preferred memorials are to the Redeemer Lutheran Church or Gideons International.
