Janet A. Dawson, 72, of Van Wert passed away at 1:15 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Mercy Health in Lima.

She was born on February 4, 1949, in Van Wert the daughter of the late Thurman A. and Margurete (Searight) Carr. She was married to Robert Lee Dawson who survives.

Other family members include her two daughters, Audra K. (David) John of Van Wert and Stephanie A. (Jamie) Fox of Fairbanks, Alaska; four grandchildren, Greg (Brooke) John, Doug (Sarah) John, Rachel (Chad) Brickner and James Robert (Brooklyn) Fox; six great grandchildren, Maxton, David L., Maliya, Liam, Lydia and Laura; and six siblings, Helen Stetler of Willshire, Bill Carr of Ohio City, Mary Riley of Ohio City, Leona Hunter of Van Wert, Patsy Halliwell of Scott and Fred Carr of Desoto, Missouri.

Besides her parents, Janet was preceded in death by three sisters, Sandra Kay Zeigler, Vivian June Chilcote, and Marjorie A. Hicks; and two brothers Dean Carr and Jimmy Carr.

Janet was a 1968 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School and was a librarian at the Brumback Library for over 30 years. She had attended the Convoy United Methodist Church.
