James W. Warner, 77, of Van Wert, passed away at 6:32 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2017, at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert. He was born on June 28, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Charles and Ethel (Howard) Warner. On March 30, 1992, he married the former Patricia Murphy and she survives. Other family members include two sons, Michael and Chris Warner; a daughter, Lori (Warner) Honig; three step-daughters, Eve Adkins, Tammy McCoy, and Misty Browning; a step-son, Kane Crowe; three sisters, Sue Bullard, Jane Lewis, and Martyne Rau; and he was loved by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles G. Warner and Lawrence C. Warner. James was a veteran of the United States Navy 1958-1962 and he retired as a special deputy U.S. Marshall in Miami, Florida. He was a member of American Legion Post 178 and V.F.W. Post 5803 both of Van Wert. Preferred memorials are to the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center. There will be no visitation or services.
