James L. Spridgeon, 74, passed away at 6:48 p.m., Thursday at his home in Van Wert.

He was born on July 12, 1945, in Van Wert the son of the late Leo Leonard and Cora Evelyn (Johnson) Spridgeon. On March 3, 1972, he married the former Jean Mosier who survives.

Family members include his children, Kara N. (Brian) Binkley of Lima and Kirk Spridgeon of Avon, Indiana; three grandchildren, Gabriel, Benjamin and Anna; a sister, Marilyn (Richard) Mohler of Westerville, Ohio; a niece, Nancy Mohler Davis of Westerville; and a nephew, Matt (Amy) Mohler of Pataskala, Ohio.

Jim was a 1963 graduate of Van Wert High School and retired from Federal Mogul after 42 years of service. He and Jean enjoyed many years of travel and camping together. He was an avid sprint car racing fan and followed the OSU Buckeyes.

Services will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Stuart Wyatt officiating. Calling hours are 1 - 5 p.m., Sunday prior to the service.
