Jack L. Stahr, 88, passed away Friday morning at his residence in Van Wert. He was born on January 30, 1930, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Leo and Mary K. Stahr. On October 8, 1955, he married the former Elsie Mae Miller who preceded him in death on December 12, 2015. He was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Jack Stahr on February 29, 2016, and three sisters, Betty Wachs, Terri Costanzo and Kathy Crawford. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Federal Mogul in Van Wert. Survivors include a brother, Jerry Stahr of Lake Placid, Florida; two sisters, Dollie Brown of Bishop, California and Rose Knotick of Baltimore, Maryland; two nephews, Brian (Mary Jane) Leathers and Stuart W. Leathers, all of Van Wert; and several other nephews and nieces. There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2018, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Harvey Lewis Post #346 of the American Legion, Ohio City. There will be calling one hour prior to the service on Monday.
