Irene H. Myers, 99, of rural Ohio City, died at 4:55 p.m., Tuesday at the VanCrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. She was born on December 8, 1916, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry and Eva (Hodgson) Spidel. On November 27, 1935, she married Walter William Myers, who died on December 28, 1991. Family survivors include one son, William Alan Myers of Convoy; two daughters, Joyce Ann McNeely of Convoy and Dixie Lee Nofer of Ohio City; three grandchildren, Kimberly McNeely, Todd W. McNeely, and William A. Myers, II; and one great grandson, Benjamin Nofer. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Jean Myers; a grandson, Dana Jay Nofer; two brothers, William Spidel and Harry Spidel, Jr.; two sisters, Janice Smith and Eileen Bowser; and two sons-in-law, Robert Nofer and Glen McNeely. Irene was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Van Wert and had served with her husband as a missionary throughout the United States for over 30 years. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April, 2, 2016, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Tim Powell officiating. There will be calling hours 12 noon until time of the service. Preferred memorials are to the Family.
