Helen Lenore Neate, 97 of rural Van Wert - York Township - where she and her husband, Harry, resided since their marriage, died at 4:15 a.m., Thursday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on October 31, 1915, in Willshire Township, the daughter of late Harry Gilbert and Nellie M.(Brown) Ault. On February 19, 1938, she married Harry T. Neate who died on July 5, 2004. Mrs. Neate was a retired farm wife and a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Van Wert County Farm Bureau, the Ohio Farmer's Union and Liberty and Pleasant Granges. Her family survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger L. and Pat Neate and Ronald D. and Pamela Neate, both of rural Van Wert; six grandchildren, Brent A. (Deb) Neate, Michele L. (Mark) McCleery, Aaron T. (Jessica) Neate, Adam S. (Randi) Neate, Sean P. Neate, and Shane W. Neate; four step grandchildren, Karla C. (Rick) Lamb, April M. (fiancé Chris Schmidt) DeMell, Bradley A. Maunz, and Kyle D. (Connie) Maunz; ten great grandchildren; fourteen step great grandchildren; seven step great great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Roger Foust of Lima. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Blaine Edward Neate; a step grandson, Erick M. Maunz; her sister, Alice Foust; and a nephew, Gary Foust. A memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Perry officiating. Burial to follow in Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are from 9 a.m. to time of service on Wednesday. Preferred memorials are to Kingsley United Methodist Church or the donor's choice.
