Obituary

Harold D. Eddy, 92, of Tully Township, passed away at 5:55 a.m., Saturday at Vancrest of Convoy. He was born on November 15, 1924, in Union Township, the son of the late William R. and Pheba Savilla (Poling) Eddy. On August 31, 1947, he married the former Pauline A. Poling and they enjoyed over 70 years of marriage. Family survivors include his son, Dr. Brian (Mellanie) Eddy of Anderson, Indiana; four grandchildren, Lauren (Brian) Stalter of Fishers, Indiana, Daniel (Renée) Eddy of Carmel, Indiana, Andrea (Tommy) Jackson of Pendleton, Indiana, and Kayla Eddy of Fishers, Indiana; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother, Lloyd Eddy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur D. Eddy and two sisters, Geneva Ann Kimmey and Norma Good. Harold was a 1943 graduate of Union High School and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the South Pacific. He was a member of Sugar Ridge Church. He had worked at Borden's Cheese in Van Wert before being engaged in full-time farming for over 60 years. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Sugar Ridge Church in Convoy with Pastor Steven G. Waterman officiating. Interment will follow at Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Calling hours are 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Tuesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the Church. Preferred memorials are to the Sugar Ridge Church, 124 N.
